Rethinking the economy together

We focus our research on the big questions concerning the future of our economic coexistence. The focus is on sustainable economic activity in a digitalised and globalised world that is characterised by increasingly scarce resources and raw materials as well as deteriorating environmental conditions and ageing societies. Our research is summarised in the following focus areas:
Work in a digitalised world, Accounting for Transparency, Start-ups and innovation, Transformation and education, Value generation in digital markets, Business ethics, Data science and Sustainability.

Research projects

Our researchers are involved in both basic and application-orientated research. We are involved in two Collaborative Research Centres, including as spokesperson for the first SFB in business administration. Further third-party-funded collaborative and individual projects demonstrate our broad spectrum of research. We see ourselves as a source of inspiration for the scientific community as well as for companies and political decision-makers.

Places of research

A future-oriented research landscape, characterised by six dynamic departments, unfolds in our faculty across the breadth of economics. Our research centres, laboratories and seminars create space for encounters, experiments and knowledge exchange.

Scientific career

Our research is supported to a large extent by excellent doctoral and postdoctoral research projects. The training of young researchers is therefore a central concern of the Faculty. With the Graduate Centre, we offer you attractive working conditions and support services.
