Change in examination planning
Until now, examination dates have been planned after the revision phase and published during the semester. In doing so, the Faculty ensures that examination planning for examinations for all students overlaps as little as possible. From WS 25/26, the examination schedules will be published at the beginning of the revision phase.
Why is this change being made?
Earlier publication will allow students to plan the semester more flexibly, as registrations can be adjusted during the revision phase. Individual requirements, such as workload and time intervals, can also be better taken into account. Early clarity also makes exam preparation easier.
Why is the first enrolment phase particularly important?
Based on the module registrations within the first registration phase, the examination dates are planned with as few overlaps as possible. These form the basis for the final published examination schedule. Our tip: Register the modules that end with an exam in the first registration phase so that your exams can be planned without overlaps. Remember that the semester fee transfer and its posting to the university account is mandatory for registration!
What needs to be considered?
When planning for the coming semester, you must pay attention not only to overlapping course dates, but also to examination dates, both for written examinations and for all alternative forms of examination (assignments, presentations, oral examinations, etc.). If there are any overlaps, you must change your module selection during the revision phase. It is not possible to change your choice at a later date.
As this is a one-year test phase, an evaluation will take place afterwards to obtain your opinion and decide which system will be continued.
Current exam dates
A distinction is made between midterm and final examinations. The performance of some modules only consists of a single examination (= final examination). The performance of other modules consists of partial or midterm examinations. The cancellation deadline in this case is therefore based on the deadline for the first partial or midterm examination.
Abschlussprüfungen finden dagegen i.d.R. in der vorlesungsfreien Zeit statt. Die letzte Möglichkeit der Prüfungsabmeldung ergibt sich aus den Terminen der Zwischen- bzw. Abschlussprüfungen.
