The habilitation

The habilitation is formal proof of the facultas docendi, i.e. the ability to independently represent an academic subject area in research and teaching (teaching qualification).

In the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, habilitation is possible in the subject areas of Business Administration and Economics. An independent sub-field of economics is also permitted as a habilitation, provided it is represented by full-time professors in the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. The Jenny Aloni Centre for Early Career Researchers at Paderborn University provides interdisciplinary information, qualification and counselling services.

The habilitation is the prerequisite for the award of a venia legendi.
