We try to enrich your study experience with international experiences here in Paderborn: foreign language events, excursions, guest lecturers.

Multilingual study programmes

Choose one of our international degree programmes. Whether Spanish, French or English, the choice is yours. However, you will not only learn other languages, but also other economic areas and work cultures.

International modules

Take courses in English or attend lectures by foreign guest lecturers. There are also modules that deal with global markets, multinational companies and other countries. An overview of English-language modules can be found in the module catalogue under "Courses in English available for exchange students".

Excursions and virtual learning

Short stays abroad are integrated into some modules. These can be excursions, participation in competitions, presentations of results or blended intensive programmes (BIPs). These modules often also include virtual collaboration in international teams.

Improve your language skills and meet new people

A foreign language helps you to understand other people better and see the world through different eyes. All people are moulded by the culture in which they live and behave accordingly. So take the plunge and get to know new people and languages.

Expand language skills

Every semester, the ZfS offers around 70 courses in up to 20 languages at various levels. The programme is supplemented by intensive courses during the semester break and a tandem programme.

Accompanying international students

Get to know students from other countries, improve your language skills, have fun and gain intercultural competences in an uncomplicated way: Take advantage of one of the programmes to get into conversation with international students.

Supporting refugees

The Buddy Programme was developed at Paderborn University to give refugee students the opportunity to improve their German language skills outside of the classroom and to promote their integration into German society.
