Consultation, discussion and decision-making

All status groups of our faculty make decisions together in the faculty's committees and boards: University lecturers, academic staff, technical and administrative staff and students. The members meet regularly to exchange ideas and work together on specialised issues.

Fac­ulty Board

The Faculty Board is the Faculty's most important decision-making body. The Faculty Board deals in particular with issues in the field of research and teaching. Its main tasks include supporting the Dean's Office in ensuring a full range of courses, organising studies and examinations, and enacting and amending faculty regulations and other rules.

The Faculty Board is responsible in particular for

  • supporting the Dean's Office in ensuring the completeness of the courses offered and the organisation of studies and examinations in cooperation with the Faculty Board's commissions and committees responsible for teaching,
  • Issuing and amending the faculty regulations and other regulations for the faculty
  • Issuing and amending examination and study regulations
  • Issuing and amending the habilitation regulations and the doctoral degree regulations
  • Receipt of reports from the Dean's Office
  • Conducting habilitations and doctorates in accordance with the habilitation and doctoral regulations
  • Proposing appointments to the President
  • Proposals to the President's Board for the introduction, amendment and cancellation of degree programmes, including subjects and degrees to be awarded
  • Proposals to the Executive Board for the awarding of the titles "Honorary Professor" and "Extraordinary Professor"
  • Resolution on the awarding of the academic degree and the title of honorary doctor
  • reaching agreement with the Presidential Board on the establishment, modification and cancellation of academic institutions and operating units
  • Election of the dean and vice deans and the dismissal of the dean
  • Consultation on the faculty's development plan
  • Consultation on the establishment of principles for the allocation of staff positions, resources and rooms allocated to the Faculty by the Dean's Office, the formation of commissions and committees of the Faculty

The Faculty Board meets every Wednesday at 14:00 in Q0.425

Proposals for the agenda and necessary consultation documents must be submitted to the Dean's Office at least 10 days before the date of the meeting. In matters relevant to the degree programme, the Academic Advisory Board must be consulted before the Faculty Board.

Study Ad­vis­ory Board

The Academic Advisory Board advises the Dean's Office and the Faculty Board on matters relating to teaching and studies, in particular on matters relating to study reform and evaluation of studies and teaching, as well as with regard to the enactment or amendment of examination regulations. The Advisory Board also decides on the annual teaching award.

The term of office is two years (01.10.2023-30.09.2025), for members of the student group one year (01.10.2023-30.09.2024).

Audit com­mit­tees

The Faculty Board of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics forms examination boards for the respective degree programmes. The tasks of the examination boards include the recognition and rebooking of examinations, decisions on retrospective examination registrations or retrospective admission to modules and the processing of applications for placement in a higher semester.

Com­mis­sion for Qual­ity Im­prove­ment in Teach­ing and Learn­ing

The commission decides on applications for the use of quality improvement funds and draws up proposals for the Dean's Office and the Faculty Board. The commission's work is based on the university's internal guidelines for the allocation of quality improvement funds, the Act on the Improvement of Quality in Studies and Teaching (Study Quality Act) and the Ordinance on the Study Quality Act (Study Quality Ordinance).
