The teaching and study centre
The Teaching and Study Centre of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics combines all activities relating to degree programme management, degree programme marketing and the organisation of teaching and examinations. The areas of activity of the Office of Student Affairs and degree programme management overlap to a large extent. The following allocation of activities should therefore not be regarded as clearly defined.
The Faculty's Office of Student Affairs is the central point of contact for planning and organising individual semesters and advising interested parties and students in various formats. This operational approach to aspects of studying and teaching is supplemented by a more strategically orientated working method.
Selected services of the study programme office are
- Course planning
- Maintenance of the module handbook (in collaboration with the module coordinators)
- Examination planning
- Admission to Master's degree programmes (support for examination boards)
- Information events (orientation phase, student photo day, ...)
- Counselling for students and prospective students
- Support and guidance for committees (e.g. study advisory board)
If you need advice on your (potential) degree programme, in particular the start of your studies, study structure, course planning or semester planning, you are welcome to make use of the consultation hours - you do not need to make an appointment. We can also provide you with information material on your degree programme.
The development of degree programmes and the curriculum, the organisational support of (re-)accreditation procedures and the positioning of the range of courses in the regional and national higher education landscape are central tasks of degree programme management. The joint organisation in the Teaching and Study Centre ensures that strategic and operational activities are coordinated and that all relevant stakeholders and interest groups are reached.
The tasks of degree programme management are
- Reporting/rankings
- quality management
- Organisation and support of (re-)accreditation procedures
- Development of programme-related job profiles
- Communication with students (programme-related)

Current topics relating to the degree programme and everyday life at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics are communicated via websites and social media channels. The degree programme marketing team is also responsible for organising various information events and maintaining networks with various non-university stakeholders such as schools and alumni (former students)."
