Orientation for your perfect start to your studies
Are you about to start your degree programme at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics? Whether you're fresh out of school, have already completed an apprenticeship or have already taken modules at another university - here you'll find all the information and support you need for the perfect start to our Bachelor's degree programmes!
Orientation Week
During the first week of lectures, the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics will hold a general welcome event where you will find out how studying with us works. In addition, the programme coordinators and student representatives organise a welcome programme, which you will take part in in small groups.
- Dates: 5–8 October 2026
- Group allocation: You will be assigned to a group before the Orientation Week begins.
Information about O-Woche will be sent by email to your university email address by Friday 2 October 2026. Please check your university email inbox!
If you have not received an email about Orientation Week or have not yet completed your registration, please contact us by email, stating your study programme, at studium@wiwi.upb.de at the Wiwi Academic Advisory Office. Otherwise, you can simply come to the university for the first event on your study programme’ . Once you’re here, we’ll direct you to your group. Feel free to use our directions and campus map.

Studierende eines Lehramtsstudiengangs nehmen an der Einführung des PLAZ teil.
The Peer Metoring Programme
From the first day of your studies, you will be supervised and supported in small groups in the peer mentoring programme. You will have an experienced student as a contact for questions about studying or student life. In small groups of like-minded people, it is easier to get used to the new environment, you will make your first friends and receive tips and help with individual problems.
The mentoring groups are organised during the orientation week.
You can arrange the dates for the next meetings individually with your mentor. We recommend weekly meetings. You can meet with your group in the seminar rooms that have already been reserved in advance or choose another location that suits you best. You can decide on topics and questions yourself so that the counselling remains on a personal level.

- Registration is possible from 1 October via the university account.
- On the IMT website you will find step-by-step instructions for creating a university account as well as help if you have not received a letter with a TAN.
