Paderborn University has initiated an important international partnership with the University of Georgia (UGA), USA. The cooperation agreement between the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Paderborn University and the University of Georgia was signed at a ceremony last week.
International cooperation for innovation and entrepreneurship
The aim of the cooperation is to promote student exchange between the two universities in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship. From the summer semester of 2025, UGA students will have the opportunity to spend a semester abroad at Paderborn University and complete an internship in a start-up at garage33, Paderborn University's innovation centre. In return, Paderborn students can take part in UGA's Student Industry Fellows Programme and gain valuable international experience.
Prof. Dr. Christoph Ehland played a central role in initiating the partnership, which represents a further milestone in the internationalisation strategy of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. The signing of the cooperation agreement was preceded by a meeting between the two delegations to exchange experiences and discuss prospects for further cooperation. The subsequent highlight was the presentation of garage33 by Prof Dr Rüdiger Kabst.
"The cooperation opens up outstanding opportunities for our students to gain international experience and develop their skills in the field of innovation and entrepreneurship," says Prof. Dr. Stefan Jungblut, Internationalisation Officer at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. Prof. Dr. Burkhard Hehenkamp, Dean of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics, also emphasises the unique combination of international research cooperation and practical, future-oriented training for students.
Paderborn University and the University of Georgia are looking forward to the successful realisation of this cooperation and the associated benefits for students, research and teaching.
