The Marketing Dissertation Workshop took place at Paderborn University from 18-19 March 2024. Twice a year, professors and doctoral candidates from the marketing professorships at Bergische Universität Wuppertal, Christian-Albrechts-Universität zu Kiel, Bielefeld University of Applied Sciences, Freie Universität Berlin, Technische Universität Braunschweig, Technische Universität Dortmund and Paderborn University come together for this event. This year's event was organised by the marketing team from Paderborn under the direction of Prof. Dr. Lena Steinhoff and Prof. Dr. Eva Böhm.
The event offers participants a wide range of opportunities for professional and personal dialogue. The doctoral candidates were able to receive valuable input on their research projects through presentations and poster presentations. The topics discussed included data privacy labels, mobile in-store services, product returns, circular economy business models and pro-environmental consumer behaviour. The programme was supplemented by a keynote speech by Prof. Dr. Philip Yang and Vicky Tinnefeld, who gave the participants exciting insights into various activities and research projects of the Paderborn Research Center for Sustainable Ecomony (PARSEC). The social programme was not neglected either. The first day ended with a varied Paderborn rally, where the participants got to know the most beautiful places in Paderborn city centre and put their competitive spirit to the test.
