What is peer mentoring?
The peer mentoring programme gives you the opportunity to be accompanied and supported in small groups from the first day of your studies. You will be assigned an experienced student as a mentor or contact person and can discuss and clarify all questions relating to your studies and student life. In small groups of like-minded people, it is easier to get used to the new environment, first friendships are formed and you receive tips and help with individual problems. The mentoring groups are organised during the orientation week.
The mentoring meetings
You can arrange the dates for the next meetings individually with your mentor. We recommend weekly meetings. You can meet with your group in the seminar rooms that have already been reserved in advance or choose another location that suits you best. You can decide on topics and questions yourself so that the counselling remains on a personal level. You are also welcome to consider in advance with your group which topics you would like to discuss at the next meeting so that your mentor can prepare well.
Aim of the programme
Our aim is to provide you with a comfortable and enjoyable start to your studies so that you can find your way around the university and make your first contacts with fellow students. Your mentor can also provide you with information on various other programmes offered by the Faculty, such as the Excellence Programme.
