We are proud to announce that members of our Department of Taxation, Accounting and Finance were recently honoured twice by the renowned journal European Accounting Review.

The paper "The Tax Complexity Index - A Survey-Based Country Measure of Tax Code and Framework Complexity", authored by Prof. Dr Caren Sureth-Sloan, Dr Thomas Hoppe, Prof. Dr Debbi Schanz and Dr Susann Sturm received the EAR Best Paper Award 2023. The researchers are delighted with the award and hope that by making their data publicly available, they can contribute to further evidence-based discussions on tax complexity, its costs and benefits, and help improve tax regulations.

Further information on the study can be found here: https: //www.accounting-for-transparency.de/tax-complexity-survey/

We would also like to congratulate Prof Dr Daniel Reimsbach on his success! He received the Best Reviewer Award from the EAR, which emphasises his outstanding performance and commitment as a reviewer of high-quality research.
