On 6 June, the UGO prizes for outstanding Bachelor's and Master's theses from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics were awarded at Gräflicher Park Bad Driburg. Max Nolting's thesis on "ChatGPT as a social mood meter - approaches to the use of AI chatbots for sentiment analysis in social media", supervised by Prof Dr Matthias Trier, was selected by the committee as the best Bachelor's thesis. Two winners of the Master's theses were delighted to receive the award: Licia Reckersdrees, supervised by Prof. Dr. Martin Schneider, was honoured for her work on "Gone, gone - Non-territorial forms of workplaces in the context of hybrid working from the employees' perspective". Aliana Görtz, supervised by Prof. Dr. Urska Kosi, was honoured for her work on "The effects of firm transparency on the insolvency process: Evidence from Germany". The 750 euro prize was presented by Thomas Koch and Melanie Cramer from Unternehmergruppe Ostwestfalen e. V.
In cooperation with Paderborn University, the Unternehmergruppe Ostwestfalen e. V. annually honours outstanding theses by Paderborn University students who were supervised by professors from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics.
