Sports economics, mechanical engineering, computer engineering or a teaching degree programme? Paderborn University currently offers around 70 degree programmes and 166 subject combinations in the teaching profession - so the choice is not always easy. The Campus Day will take place on Monday, 15 January, so that prospective students can get to know all these options. The university will open its doors from 8 a.m. to 2 p.m. and invites pupils and other prospective students to explore the campus and, in particular, the range of degree programmes on offer and to talk to lecturers and students. Prior registration is not necessary, all information can be found on the event website. The Campus Day is part of the NRW-wide "Study Orientation Weeks".
The programme is varied: lecturers present the various degree programmes and open up some of their regular courses so that interested students can take part in a real lecture. In addition, the Central Student Advisory Service (ZSB ) will give presentations on the courses on offer, admission requirements and opportunities to get to know individual degree programmes in taster sessions. In addition to the ZSB, numerous students from various degree programmes as well as staff from the Student Services Department (BAföG) will be available for discussions in the university foyer. Under the motto "A university for all", prospective students with a health impairment, disability or chronic illness are also explicitly invited to find out about the general conditions and support options. Several campus and laboratory tours round off the comprehensive programme.
"There is hardly any other opportunity to get as much information and impressions about studying at Paderborn University in just one day as on Campus Day," says Cinderella Welz, ZSB employee. "Participants can use our app to find out about the programme in advance and create a list of favourites at home. They then only have to call up their favourites on Campus Day and can start collecting information and valuable impressions for their study choice orientation on site," says Welz.
