Paderborn University students honoured at the Excellence Forum 2025

From artificial intelligence in the world of finance to sustainable packaging systems and consumer behaviour on social media: 21 outstanding students presented their individual research ideas at this year's Excellence Forum. They are all taking part in the Excellence Programme, which offers committed students the opportunity to work intensively on a topic of their choice - and to experience scientific practice at an early stage.

The Excellence Programme is aimed at the faculty's top-performing students. Participants develop their own research topic and are supervised by the respective chairs. They also take part in a structured seminar programme on scientific work and writing under the direction of Prof. Dr. H.-Hugo Kremer and Sarah Schotten.

On 16 June, the time had come: at the Excellence Forum 2025, the participants presented their scientific projects to an audience of professors, staff and students from the Faculty. The event kicked off with an exciting poster presentation in which the students presented their initial results. The aim was to receive initial feedback on the current status of their own research work and to gain new impetus in an open dialogue.

The Excellence Forum fulfils a dual function: while the current participants provide initial insights into their projects, the previous year's graduates present their completed research work. At the end of the forum, Prof. Dr. H.-Hugo Kremer, Professor of Business and Vocational Education and Programme Director, and Prof. Dr. Claus-Jochen Haake, Dean of Studies at the Faculty, presented the certificates in recognition of the students' achievements.

"The steadily growing interest in the programme shows how great the potential and commitment of our students is," said Prof. Kremer. The Excellence Forum is a place for exchanging ideas and recognising students' achievements. The programme not only strengthens academic skills, but also promotes the diversity of economic perspectives within the faculty.
