Realistic sword fighting or Quidditch - what doesn't Paderborn University Sport actually offer? And how many first-year students were enrolled at Paderborn University this year? These and many other questions had to be answered at Paderborn University's first official sixth form quiz.
As part of the Uni Underground event series in the Paderborn University vault, pupils from the region had the opportunity to get a taste of university life for three days. In addition to interesting research questions on sustainability, technology and modern working and social environments, pupils were able to test out their strengths and which degree programme might suit them in a trial course.
The event was crowned with a sixth form quiz in which pupils could win money for their A-levels. Eleven different schools competed against each other in eight different quiz categories. In addition to the schools, experts from Paderborn University such as Prof. Dr. Marco Platzner from Computer Science, Jessica Coenen from the garage33 Technology and Transfer Centre and Marten Wibbe from the History Institute were on hand to explain the answers professionally.
At the end of the evening, the team from Gymnasium Theodorianum was delighted to win the competition and receive €700 in prize money. Second place, with prize money of €500, went to Gymnasium Schloss Neuhaus. Closely followed by Pelizaeusgymnasium in third place, with a prize of €200.
The event was sponsored by the Paderborn University Society. The prize money was provided by the Paderborner Hochschulkreis e. V. and the Paderborn alumni association.
