Call for entries for the UGO Prize awarded by the East Westphalia Business Group (UGO)
In partnership with Paderborn University, the Unternehmergruppe Ostwestfalen e. V. awards prizes for outstanding Bachelor’s and master’s theses written by students at Paderborn University who were supervised by professors from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics. The deadline for submissions is 31 January.

Everything you need to know about the application
- Master’s and bachelor’s theses from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics for which the final examination took place after January of the previous year and up to the current nomination deadline.
- A maximum of three theses may be nominated per department.
- Theses are awarded on the recommendation of the academic representative who supervised the thesis.
Proposals should be addressed to the Chair of the Awards Committee, Prof. Dr Matthias Trier (Faculty of Business Administration and Economics) (by email to birgit.petermeier@upb.de). The deadline for submissions is 31 January!
The Award Ceremony
A committee comprising the following members decides on the awarding of the prizes:
- Three members nominated by the Unternehmergruppe Ostwestfalen e. V.
- Two professors from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Paderborn University,
- One professor from Paderborn University to be jointly nominated by the Unternehmergruppe Ostwestfalen e. V. and Paderborn University.
- The decision does not require justification. The decision is final and cannot be appealed. The chair of the award committee will notify the prize winners of the result.
The prize is expected to be awarded during a special event organised by the University of Paderborn (UPB) or the Unternehmergruppe Ostwestfalen e.V. (UGO) between April and July.
