Making excellent academic work by students visible - that is the aim of the UGO awards, which were presented on 22 May at Gräflicher Park in Bad Driburg. The Unternehmergruppe Ostwestfalen e. V., together with Paderborn University, honours particularly successful Bachelor's and Master's theses from the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics.
In the Bachelor's thesis category, Luisa Rehrmann impressed the jury with her research on "Beyond the rules: An empirical analysis of the emergence of workarounds" - supervised by Prof Dr Martin Schneider.
There were two awards in the field of Master's theses: Mahdi Rahali, supervised by Prof. Dr. Urska Kosi, was honoured for his analysis on "Covid-19-related insolvency suspensions and financial health of German firms". Lisa Bohle, supervised by Prof Dr Lena Steinhoff, received the prize for her work on "The Impact of Store Remodeling Customer Management Strategies in Grocery Retailing on Existing Customer Relationships".
The prize, endowed with 750 euros each, was presented by Thomas Koch and Melanie Cramer from the Unternehmergruppe Ostwestfalen e. V. (East Westphalia Entrepreneurs' Group).
The annual award shows: Good teaching and dedicated support pay off - for all sides. It not only makes the students' achievements visible, but also the academic depth and practical relevance that are promoted at the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics.
