Tag der Wirtschaftswissenschaften 2025

As an event of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics supported by the Paderborner Hochschulkreis e. V., the Day of Economics takes place every autumn. The focus is on the graduates and doctoral candidates of the last winter or summer semester, who celebrate their successful graduation together with their relatives, friends and the faculty community.

Active and former faculty members, students and alumni are also cordially invited. The event offers space to meet, exchange ideas and reunite with former companions - at the ceremonial awarding of certificates in the afternoon and the Wiwi Night in the evening.

The next Graduation Ceremony will take place on 15 November 2025. Registration is now open. All graduates also have the opportunity to sign the yearbook.

Registration

The Day of Economics consists of a day and an evening event, for each of which you must register separately. You also have the opportunity to have your name entered in the graduate yearbook.

Keynote Speaker 2025: Jörg Habich

Dr. Jörg Habich Festredner am Tag der Wirtschaftswissenschaften 2025
What academic background have you completed?

I studied business administration with a focus on human resources management, organisation and labour law at Paderborn University, where I graduated with a degree in business administration. I then worked from 1998 to 2005 as a research assistant at the Chair of General Business Administration, in particular Human Resources Management, under Prof. Dr. Drs. h. c. Wolfgang Weber. During this time, I completed my doctorate on the subject of "Competence Management - A Critical-Rational Analysis" and obtained the academic degree of Dr. rer. pol. At the same time, I was personal advisor to the rectors of the Paderborn University. To this day, I teach at various universities in Bachelor's and Master's degree courses on the subjects of personnel management, organisation and strategic management and work as a practice assessor for AQAS.

What has your professional career been like so far?

After working at Paderborn University, I moved to the Bertelsmann Stiftung, where I was initially involved in a project to standardise German employment contract law. In the following years, I took on various management and leadership roles, including as project manager, head of the committee office and later as senior project manager in the field of "Leadership and Corporate Culture". In this role, I was responsible for the "Forum Bellevue on the Future of Democracy" in cooperation with the Federal President.

I then worked as Commercial Director of the Höll Group, where I oversaw the strategic repositioning and reorganisation of the company following insolvency. I have been Commercial Director of Liz Mohn Center gGmbH since 2022 and additionally Commercial Director of the Liz Mohn Foundation since 2024. In this role, I am responsible for the areas of finance, organisation, law, governance and human resources management as well as the field of "Creating Leadership Cultures" with a focus on AI and leadership.
