The STEM taster programme for middle and high school students
During the first week of the autumn holidays, from 14 to 18 October, Paderborn University is offering schoolgirls in grades 7 to 13 a taster course in the STEM fields: the autumn university "Girls only", organised by the project "Frauen gestalten die Informationsgesellschaft" (fgi). Parallel to the "Girls only" autumn university, the "All Gender" autumn university is also offered by the MINT@UniPB project for high school students.
During this week, participants can take part in exciting lectures and interactive workshops in the fields of mathematics, computer science, business informatics, chemistry, physics, electrical engineering and mechanical engineering. As part of the taster programme, pupils have the opportunity to ask numerous questions about studying and get to know student life at Paderborn University. The events take place in person, with some dates also taking place online.
Registration for both projects is possible from 2 to 29 September. The registration form as well as an overview of all events and further information can be found at www.uni-paderborn.de/universitaet/fgi/herbst-uni and www.uni-paderborn.de/universitaet/mintunipb/herbst-uni.
"look upb": STEM mentoring programme for female high school students
The new round of the STEM mentoring programme "look upb" will also begin in October at the start of the 2024/25 winter semester. This programme gives high school students the opportunity to attend lectures, workshops, excursions and mentoring meetings together with a female student for one semester, providing a practical insight into the STEM degree programmes at Paderborn University. A supporting programme with further events such as an excursion to a regional company rounds off the offer. Interested schoolgirls can register by 15 September: www.upb.de/look.
