You must specify your major in writing at the beginning of your studies in PAUL under major/minor subject selection.

The minor must be selected before the first registration of a minor module in PAUL under specialisation/minor subject selection. This ensures that students do not take more modules than they need. It also prevents students from taking modules that do not contribute to their intended minor.

You can change your major once during the course of your degree programme. To do so, please write an informal application with a meaningful explanation to the programme director, Professor Dr. Kirsten Thommes(kirsten.thommes@upb.de)

Students can change their minor at any time without applying to the Examinations Office.

We strongly recommend that you refrain from taking method modules abroad and instead take the supplementary area (10 ECTS) and modules in the major and minor (20 ECTS) abroad. Please clarify the credit transfer options in good time.

Yes, you can. Please ensure that you clarify the recognition at an early stage and also ensure that you book the credits according to the following scheme:

• ASBE I is booked as a supplementary module.
• ASBE II as a research project is recognised in the major or minor. You are responsible for coordinating the fit with the supervisor of the ASBE thesis. Please make sure that your supervisor must also come from the field of the respective major/minor.
• ASBE III is booked in the major/minor if the content is appropriate. It may be necessary for you to complete an additional transfer thesis. Please coordinate this with the respective professor on your own responsibility. It may also be possible to gain credit for the capstone course by means of a transfer thesis; this should be agreed with the module coordinator for the capstone course.
• ASBE IV is booked in the major/minor. It may be necessary for you to complete an additional transfer thesis. Please coordinate this with the respective professor on your own responsibility.
