The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics has announced the winners of the Teaching Award 2025. The most convincing teaching programmes of the news semester were honoured at the "Day of Economics". In order to adequately reflect the range of teaching formats - from interactive seminars to large lectures in the Bachelor's programme - the Faculty presented two awards.

Dr Nadja Stroh-Maraun - Mathematics for Economics II

Dr Nadja Stroh-Maraun received the award for the module "Mathematics for Economics II". She fundamentally redesigned the course and developed it further with great commitment, emphasised Prof. Dr. Haake in his laudatory speech.

The students particularly recognised the high level of comprehensibility of her explanations, the numerous links to other modules and the consistent practical relevance to economics. The comments included enthusiastic feedback such as: "Nadja is such a woman of honour, I love her, she explains so well - she is the first lecturer who doesn't give me an anxiety attack when I have to do maths" or "The best lecturer ever! Maths is now my favourite subject because of her."

Maike Althaus, Lea Biere - Project seminar Conversational Agents: Information Systems and Sociology in dialogue

Maike Althaus and Lea B iere also received a teaching award for the project seminar "Conversational Agents: Information Systems and Sociology in Dialogue". As part of the seminar, the students developed a chatbot to explain habitus theory - an example of innovative project work. The nominations particularly emphasised the interdisciplinary interaction between business informatics and sociology.

"We would like to thank the border crossers who have given the students unique insights," said Dean of Studies Prof Dr Claus-Jochen Haake at the award ceremony.

Students help decide

The award winners were selected largely by the students. They were able to propose modules and cast their vote on the Student Advisory Board, in which they make up the majority. In this way, they make a decisive contribution to making high-quality teaching visible and sponsoring it.

The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics would like to congratulate the winners on their outstanding achievements and would also like to thank all students for their dedicated participation in the selection process.
