Prof Dr Bartlitz gives lecture at the Hungarian Lawyers' Association on the future of electronic securities
In March, Prof Dr David Bartlitz from Paderborn University gave a lecture at the Hungarian Association of Jurists in Budapest. The conference, organised at the headquarters of MBH Bank, brought together experts from business and academia to discuss current regulatory developments in the financial sector.
A key topic was digitalisation in the financial sector. In his presentation on "Electronic Securities", Prof. Dr. David Bartlitz showed how the German Electronic Securities Act (eWpG) could serve as a model for modernising Hungarian financial law. In his opinion, the legislation in Hungary offers great potential for adapting to digital financial instruments and creating a future-proof securities system.
Other presentations focussed on the legal framework for digital consumer loans, new regulations for credit purchasers and the EU-wide regulation of cryptoassets through the MiCA Regulation. The discussions emphasised the importance of clear and innovative legal regulations in order to further develop the financial sector.
"It was a great honour for me to be invited to this event. The exchange on international legal frameworks is crucial in order to develop innovative solutions for the financial markets," said Prof Dr David Bartlitz.
The event was part of the first symposium of the Banking Law Section of the Hungarian Lawyers' Association in 2025. Further information can be found in the press release of the Hungarian Lawyers' Association.
