At this year’s Faculty Research Workshop organised by the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at Paderborn University, held in Bad Arolsen from 2 to 3 July 2026, researchers from all departments came together to present their latest research and engage in discussion. This event, which has been established for many years, provides an important platform for faculty-wide exchange on research projects, methods and new academic questions.
Around 80 faculty members discussed 29 research projects in 10 oral presentations and 19 poster presentations. The contributions reflected the faculty’s thematic diversity and provided insights into current developments in economic research. Early-career researchers in particular took the opportunity to present their work to an interdisciplinary audience, seek feedback and forge new contacts within the faculty. The workshop thus not only promoted the visibility of current research projects but also fostered exchange between the various research areas.
At the end of the workshop, awards were presented for the best contributions. The prize for the best oral presentation was awarded to Thao Le Nguyen. The best poster was presented by Philipp Hansmeier, Lisa Bohle, Yannick Dietrich, Johann Müller, Dr. Carina Witte, Prof. Dr Daniel Beverungen, Prof. Dr Lena Steinhoff and Prof. Dr Beate Flath.
Prof. Dr Tobias Jenert, Vice-Dean for Research and Early-Career Researchers, gave a positive assessment: “I am deeply impressed by the high quality of the contributions and by the enthusiasm with which the participants represented their research. In the age of AI and online open access, academia is becoming increasingly fast-paced; critical exchange across disciplinary boundaries is therefore particularly important. The Faculty Research Workshop is a great opportunity for this!”
The Faculty Research Workshop once again highlighted the importance of academic exchange within the faculty. The event provided a space for specialist discussions, new networking opportunities and shared perspectives on current challenges and issues in economic research.
