Sustainability in practice: The Studierendenwerk PB in transition

Location: Hörsaal L1

For the third time, the Office of Educational Innovation and University Didactics is organising a joint lecture series on the topic of sustainability together with Prof. Dr. René Fahr 's department in the winter semester 2024/25. The lecture series is entitled "UPB for Future" and is aimed at students of all disciplines and study phases, employees and interested members of the public. The ecological, social and economic dimensions of sustainability are addressed and discussed in weekly lectures.

The economic model of the donut economy, which was first presented by Kate Raworth in 2012, offers the opportunity to rethink sustainable economic activity. In our lecture, we will take a look at this model and shed light on various aspects of how economic activity is possible within planetary boundaries. But models are not the same as application, so we will take a closer look at the region of Ostwestfalen Lippe (OWL) and present results and insights from our current research project Green.OWL.
