On 27 August 2024, the DigiSelF project group held a closed meeting under the motto "Transfer", setting an important milestone for the further development of transfer activities. Interdisciplinary teams came together to test innovative approaches and measures to enable and promote the transfer of knowledge and methods across disciplinary boundaries.

The thematic focus of the conference was on viewing transfer processes not just as simple transfers, but as complex processes of understanding and adaptation. Building on this, strategies were developed that aim to overcome disciplinary and institutional hurdles and promote sustainable, interdisciplinary cooperation.

In various groups, the participants examined the transferability of their measures and developed ideas for their further development. The spectrum of innovations ranged from digital teaching and learning materials to new didactic concepts.

One highlight of the conference was a transfer workshop that focussed on the systematic exchange of disciplinary and regional characteristics. These reflection processes are essential in order to recognise and successfully shape the specific challenges and potential when implementing transfer measures in different contexts.

The results of the closed conference form the basis for a further transfer strategy, which will be further developed and implemented in the coming months. The aim is to promote cooperation within the project group and at the same time provide inspiration for other institutions wishing to implement similar projects.

About the DigiSelF project

The 'DigiSelF' project is being sponsored by the Foundation for Innovation in Higher Education over a period of 4.5 years (including extension). The focus is on addressing the inequalities in the learning requirements of students at various levels: subject-specific, interdisciplinary as well as volitional and motivational.

The team is particularly dedicated to the opportunities and challenges that digitalisation brings in promoting these fields. Innovative ways in which digital teaching tools and methods can improve the learning environment are being researched. There is also a focus on investigating digital assessment and feedback tools to enable more effective learning and feedback.
