About the talk:
The circular economy is often associated with recycling, waste prevention or resource efficiency. However, its potential extends far beyond these areas. As an innovative approach, it calls for products, services and business models to be designed in such a way that value can be preserved, created anew and shared for as long as possible. The talk will demonstrate how circular thinking shapes innovation right from the early stages of development, what opportunities this presents for businesses and society, and why the design of future value creation systems is a key driver for a sustainable and competitive future.
About the speaker:
Sina-Marie Schneider is a Circular Economy Manager and an industrial PhD candidate. In both research and practice, she focuses on the design of circular value creation systems and the question of how the circular economy can act as a driver for innovation. Her focus is on the interplay between product design, services and business models, as well as on the integration of circular principles into early stages of innovation and development. By combining academic research with industrial practice, she investigates how companies can combine economic success with environmental and social value creation.
“UPB for Future” Lecture Series
For the seventh time, the Educational Innovation and Higher Education Didactics Office, in collaboration with Prof. Dr René Fahr’s research group, is organising a joint lecture series on sustainability during the winter semester 26/27. The lecture series is entitled “UPB for Future” and is aimed at students from all disciplines and at all stages of their studies, staff, and the interested public. In weekly lectures, the environmental, social and economic dimensions of sustainability will be explored and discussed.
