In the winter semester 2024/25, Paderborn University is once again inviting all interested parties to various lecture series on socially relevant topics. Every week, lecturers and researchers from the five faculties as well as external experts will deal with a wide range of aspects relating to sustainability, music and digital media. It is not necessary to register for the programmes in advance.
"UPB For Future" - the sustainability lecture series
Dr Katharina Schardt and Amanda Fiege from the Office of Educational Innovation and University Didactics, together with the department of Prof Dr René Fahr, Vice President for Knowledge and Technology Transfer at Paderborn University, are once again inviting you to the sustainability lecture series. The lecture series is entitled "UPB for Future" and addresses the ecological, social and economic dimensions of sustainability - from the fear of the climate crisis to greenwashing and climate protection in the healthcare sector. The lectures will take place every Thursday from 24 October from 16:15 to 17:45 in lecture theatre L1.

Lecture series "Music & digital media"
Under the direction of Prof. Dr. Andreas Münzmay and Prof. Dr.-Ing. Axel Berndt from the Musicology Seminar Detmold/Paderborn and the KreativInstitut.OWL, the lecture series "Music & Digital Media" will take place from Wednesday, 9 October. At the opening event, Prof Dr Peter Moormann from the Technical University of Dortmund will give a lecture on "Music as a communication vehicle in social media". The lectures take place every fortnight on Wednesdays from 6.15 pm in the Kuppelsaal at Detmold University of Music. Special events include the discussion concert in Schloss Neuhaus (Paderborn) and the lecture performance on the organ in Detmold's Heilig-Kreuz-Kirche .
