Abstract:

This presentation explores the strategic orchestration of Artificial Intelligence (AI) within modern enterprises. It examines how firms transition from mere strategic intent to tangible competitive advantages, beginning with a brief overview of how internal innovation resources and collaborative networks drive a firm's initial AI strategic choice. The core of the talk focuses on a new longitudinal study of manufacturing firms to clarify the mechanisms—specifically AI technology investment and AI talent recruitment—through which an AI orientation translates into radical innovation. Beyond these empirical findings, the session will conclude with a candid discussion on the "dos and don'ts" of publishing in elite journals. Firsthand reflections will be shared on how to successfully frame theoretical contributions and, perhaps more importantly, an analysis of the common pitfalls that lead to rejections from top-tier editors.
