In December, Prof. Trang and Gilbert Hövel from the Chair of Information Systems, in particular Sustainability, attended the International Conference on Information Systems (ICIS). The ICIS is one of the world's most important conferences in the field of information systems. This year the conference took place in Hyderabad, India. Gilbert presented his paper "How to avoid Mediation Errors - Investigating the Roles of Policies and Nudging from a Stress Perspective". The paper is about how nudging can be used to encourage medical staff to behave in a desired way when dealing with IT (e.g. IT process compliance) without putting them under additional stress through policies. In addition to presentations, the conference also offered the opportunity to exchange ideas with the community and experience India culturally through the various social events. Hyderabad is home to a number of large tech companies, but the city also offers many historical sights such as an old fortress, mosques and temples. Overall, the conference visit made it possible to exchange ideas with the community and discuss current research as well as generate ideas and impetus for the new year 2024.
