Prof. Dr. Dennis Kundisch and Alexander Rinkowski, together with Prof. Dr. Oliver Müller, are delighted that their project ‘Student AI Skills in Economics’ has been awarded the Paderborn University Prize for Innovation and Quality Improvement in Teaching.

The aim of the project is to teach all first-year bachelor's students at the Faculty of Economics at the University of Paderborn basic AI skills at an early stage. The goal is to enable them to use generative AI in a reflective, systematic and responsible manner during their studies at our faculty.

The project takes an innovative approach to teaching students the key features of generative AI in a low-threshold manner. As with a driving licence, the focus is not on technical details but on practical use and a correct intuition for the behaviour of language models such as ChatGPT.

We are delighted to receive this award!
