The Chair of Organisational Behavior is very pleased to announce the successful completion of two more doctorates this year. We would like to congratulate Dr. Olesja Lammert and Dr. Jörg Papenkordt on defending their doctoral dissertations and completing their doctoral projects.
Dr. Olesja Lammert dedicated her doctoral dissertation to the topic of "Human Factors in XAI: Enhancing User Reliance Through Emotional Alignment in Decision-Making". In her work, she investigated how emotional factors can be taken into account in explainable AI systems (XAI) in order to improve user trust and their reliance on AI-supported decisions. The aim of her work was to integrate emotional factors into explainable AI systems in such a way that more rational decisions are sponsored and emotional misinterpretations of AI explanations are avoided.
Dr. Jörg Papenkordt dealt with "Teaming with AI: Human Behaviour in AI-Assisted Decision-Making" in his doctoral dissertation. In his work, he analysed the interaction between humans and AI in decision-making processes. In this context, he focused on the interaction between AI and individuals and teams, with an emphasis on the socio-cognitive factors that shape decision-making and collaboration. The work combines psychological, information systems and team theory approaches, making it possible to explore and explain cognitive, social and structural mechanisms of cooperation with AI.
The Chair would like to congratulate both doctoral students on their research achievements and looks forward to following their further professional development.
