The paper "Time perspectives and collaborative performance in creative tasks" by Thorsten Auer, Julia Hoppe and Kirsten Thommes has been accepted for publication by the Journal of Organizational Effectiveness: People and Performance!

The paper experimentally investigates the influence of time preferences on the performance of duos.
The results indicate that an increased past orientation and a different future orientation of a duo have a negative effect on cooperative performance. At the same time, more future orientation on the part of both partners leads to better performance. The duos' task in the experiment was to present concepts.

The number of terms presented per time was measured as well as the quality of the presentation and the uniqueness. The last two quality measures were evaluated by independent assessors.

It can be seen that duos in which the participants are past-oriented work less well according to all criteria than duos in which the participants have a strong future orientation.
