First SUSTAIN-EU project meeting

The partners of the Erasmus+ project "SUSTAIN-EU: European Sustainability Expert" met for the first time at Paderborn University on 19 and 20 February. Six European countries are represented in the project consortium: Portugal (ISQ), Austria (BFI), Romania (GIE), Ireland (SRC), Italy (CIB) and Germany (UPB).

The first project meeting was a kick-off event at which the main focus was on the objectives and the steps envisaged to achieve them.

At the end of the project period, three results in particular should have been developed:

  1. European Sustainability Expert Competence Profile and Curriculum
    • The development of a standardised qualification and professionalisation profile in the form of a curriculum to become a European sustainability expert.
  2. European Sustainability Expert Course
    • The online course provides the learning materials to obtain the qualifications of a European sustainability expert.
  3. SUSTAIN-EU CPD programme for VET professionals
    • Finally, in addition to the learning materials, teaching materials for teachers in the VET sector are also created and made available.

The project coordinators from Portugal (ISQ) kicked off the meeting with an impact activity. The partners were asked to consider what impact they could have at different levels and with different stakeholders over the course of the project. The individual work packages were then discussed and debated one after the other.

Overall, the first meeting was very informative and helpful for further collaboration.

The partners agreed on the next steps and are delighted with the successful start to the project.
