Completed research projects of the Chair of Business and Vocational Education, in particular media didactics and continuing education
The aim of training and pre-vocational education programmes at vocational schools is to enable young people to make as direct a transition as possible into training (and employment). Qualification modules are characterised by the fact that they particularly require (company) practical skills and abilities and are oriented towards the requirements of in-company training in an occupation (field). It is precisely here that potential is seen for those young people who have difficulties in dealing with the theoretical aspects of learning subjects - practical relevance and practical formats (work placements, workshop lessons etc.) play a special role. However, the purely requirements-orientated focus of classic qualification modules also causes problems: the majority of young people are not yet sufficiently vocationally oriented and there are problems in the field of basic language skills and / or with regard to motivation to learn at school. The QBi project addresses these challenges and follows the guiding principle of individualised and inclusive vocational education and training. With this in mind, framework concepts for qualification modules are being developed that are tailored to the requirements of the learners and, in particular, enable learning paths with different objectives. Individual learning successes are documented and certified, making them utilisable for the learners. The 'inclusive qualification modules' therefore not only include basic vocational subjects, but also aspects of vocational orientation, the promotion of basic skills and thus open up scope for personal development. The scientific support is working intensively with a total of four vocational colleges on the development, trialling and further development of such qualification modules.
