Brief Profile

"Business education research often has evaluative characteristics and should generally be thought of in terms of evaluation research. It focuses on one or more levels of the VET system and analyses aspects, processes and interrelationships at the micro, meso and/or macro level as well as the interplay between these levels. Learning theory approaches form the basis of the analyses, which can be of a didactic, organisational or structural nature, for example. Current topics such as new media, e-learning and serious games are just as much a focus as educational and organisational work, vocational orientation and the challenges in the area of transitions in the vocational education system or transitions from the vocational education system to the world of work."

Research Interests

Main areas of research:

- Learning with digital media - e-learning / m-learning
- Evaluation in vocational education and training
- European educational projects and comparative business education
- Subject didactics / curriculum development and skills development
- Educational programme development and support / annual didactic planning
- Transition system in vocational education and training
- Cooperation between learning venues / educational networks.

Teaching Areas

Students are at the centre of teaching. It is important to learn stable basics in the Bachelor's programme and to gain initial insights into practical implementation. The proportion of independent and project-related work is very important in Master's courses in order to intensify personal experience. We offer courses in the areas of media didactics, skills development, company and vocational training, communication and interaction. Moreover, we supervise Bachelor's and Master's theses in this field.
