The aim of the project is to develop new ways of electrifying remote regions in East Africa through microgrids and their interconnection. Together with the African and German partners, the project aims to develop an interdisciplinary approach that addresses many relevant aspects and demonstrates holistic solutions. The transfer of expertise to local markets and educational institutions is particularly relevant.

Our chair contributes the economic perspective on the implementation of microgrids. We investigate the control and monitoring of the implementation and focus particularly on the technical and behavioural economic robustness of microgrids.
