Innovative Teacher’s Guidebook introduces digital storytelling in Higher Education language teaching

 |  E-Stories

The project’s Teacher’s Guidebook is a comprehensive resource that integrates language education with technology and intercultural learning through the methodology of digital storytelling. It has been specifically designed to support educators working with international and migrant student populations, addressing the evolving needs of multicultural higher education environments.

A key feature of the Guidebook is its highly interactive, user-oriented design. Rather than functioning as a static manual, it is structured as a flexible, engaging resource that encourages educators to use, adapt, and explore it actively. It integrates practical elements such as ready-made activities, reflective prompts, digital tools, and adaptable lesson frameworks, enabling instructors to engage with the material in their specific teaching contexts. The Guidebook promotes a participatory approach by supporting collaborative use, experimentation, and continuous adaptation. It is designed not only to facilitate knowledge acquisition but also to enable educators to shape and customize their teaching practices through the resource actively.

More specifically, it offers to educators:

  • the theoretical base of all proposed teaching practices
  • ready-to-use lesson plans and practical activities
  • digital tools and techniques for classroom implementation
  • access to an e-learning platform with interactive materials
  • flexibility to adapt to diverse educational contexts

Educators can use it either as a practical guide for immediate application or as a source of inspiration for innovative teaching practices.

The Guidebook is available as an Open Educational Resource (OER), promoting accessibility and knowledge dissemination across universities and educational institutions throughout Europe and beyond. It is complemented by training activities and online courses designed to strengthen educators’ competencies in applying innovative teaching methodologies.
