Last week, our research associate Olesja Lammert took part in the World Conference on eXplainable Artificial Intelligence 2024 in Valletta. The conference was attended by participants from over 40 countries and more than 100 speakers.
Olesja presented a paper from the project A03 TRR 318 "Constructing Explainability", which was written by Kirsten Thommes, Olesja Lammert, Christian Schütze, Birte Richter and Britta Wrede. The paper analyses how different AI strategies are perceived depending on the emotional arousal of the user. The study "Human Emotions in AI Explanations" shows that people in a highly aroused state react best to guided explanations.
