TAF Research Seminar, Marlene Plumlee
Am 07. Mai 2019 hielt Marlene Plumlee (University of Utah) im Rahmen des TAF Research Seminars im Raum Q5.245 einen Vortrag zum Thema: "Growth Matters: Disclosure and Risk Premium".
Marlene A. Plumlee ist Professorin für Rechnungslegung und Fakultätsmitglied an der David Eccles School of Business an der University of Utah. Das Studium mit dem Schwerpunkt Rechnungslegung absolvierte Marlene A. Plumlee im Jahr 1986 an der University of Great Falls in Montana. Das Examen zur Wirtschaftsprüferin absolvierte sie 1987 in Colorado. 1997 schloss sie ihr Promotionsstudium an der Univerity of Michigan ab.
In ihrer Forschung beschäftigt sich Marlene A. Plumlee hauptsächlich mit Offenlegungseffekten der Rechnungslegung sowie der Effizienz der Aktienmärkte. Des Weiteren untersucht sie den Einfluss von Informationen auf die Bewertung und Prognosen mit besonderem Schwerpunkt auf Eigenkapitalkosten und Nachhaltigkeitsberichterstattung.
Zusätzlich veröffentlichte Marlene A. Plumlee Beiträge in den führenden Rechnungslegungszeitschriften (u.a. Accounting Review, Journal of Accounting Research und Review of Accounting Studies). Sie ist derzeit Editorial Board Member der Zeitschrift Accounting Review und Editor bei Zeitschrift Contemporary Accounting Research.
Marlene A. Plumlee unterrichtet sowohl Master- als auch Bachelorstudiengänge in den Bereichen Internationale Rechnungslegung und Bilanzanalyse. Zudem bietet sie ein Doktorandenseminar zu aktuellen Themen der Kapitalmarktforschung an.

Marlene A. Plumlee is a professor of accounting and David Eccles Faculty Fellow at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. She graduated in accounting at the Univerity of Great Falls in Montana in 1986. One year later she became a certified public accountant in Colorado. In 1997 she completed her doctoral studies at the Univerity of Michigan.
In her research Marlene A. Plumlee focuses on accounting disclosure and stock market efficiency. She also examines the impact of information on valuation and forecasts, with particular emphasis on the costs of equity and environmental disclosures.
In addition, Marlene A. Plumlee has published papers in key accounting journals, including The Accounting Review, the Journal of Accounting Research, and the Review of Accounting Studies. She is currently a member of the editorial board of The Accounting Review and editor at Contemporary Accounting Research.
Marlene A. Plumlee teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses in international accounting and financial statement analysis. In addition, she offers a PhD seminar in current issues of capital market research.
