TAF Research Seminar, Marlene A. Plumlee

On May 7, 2019 Marlene A. Plumlee (University of Utah, USA) held a presentation at the TAF Research Seminar. The title of her presentation was: 'Growth Matters: Disclosure and Risk Premium'.

Marlene A. Plumlee is a professor of accounting and David Eccles Faculty Fellow at the David Eccles School of Business at the University of Utah. She graduated in accounting at the Univerity of Great Falls in Montana in 1986. One year later she became a certified public accountant in Colorado. In 1997 she completed her doctoral studies at the Univerity of Michigan.

In her research Marlene A. Plumlee focuses on accounting disclosure and stock market efficiency. She also examines the impact of information on valuation and forecasts, with particular emphasis on the costs of equity and environmental disclosures.

In addition, Marlene A. Plumlee has published papers in key accounting journals, including The Accounting Review, the Journal of Accounting Research, and the Review of Accounting Studies. She is currently a member of the editorial board of The Accounting Review and editor at Contemporary Accounting Research.

Marlene A. Plumlee teaches both graduate and undergraduate courses in international accounting and financial statement analysis. In addition, she offers a PhD seminar in current issues of capital market research.
