TRR 266/ TAF Research Seminar, Beatriz García Osma

As part of the TAF Resarch Seminar, Beatriz García Osma from the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain) held a presentation on 'Not Just a Boys’ Club: Gender and Private Information Channels for Insider Trading' on January 28, 2020. The seminar is part of the TRR 266 Seminar Series.

Beatriz García Osma’s research focuses on the links between financial reporting, corporate governance and capital markets. Her papers have been published, among others, in the Journal of Accounting and Economics, Review of Accounting Studies, Accounting, Organizations and Society.

Beatriz García Osma is currently a professor of accounting at the Universidad Carlos III de Madrid (Spain). Before that, she was an Associate Professor of Accounting and Finance at Universidad Autónoma de Madrid (Spain). She was an Assistant Professor of Accounting at the Universidad Autonoma de Madrid (Spain) from 2004 to 2009. Beatriz García Osma holds a PhD in Accounting & Finance from Lancaster University (UK), where she was also a Marie Curie pre- and post-doctoral researcher.

She was elected to represent Spain in the Board of the European Accounting Association from 2014 to 2020, and also as a member of the EAA Management Committee (2014 to 2017). Beatriz García Osma is the editor of the European Accounting Review from 2020 to 2023 and of the Spanish Journal of Finance and Accounting since 2017. She belongs to several editorial boards of international journals.
