From October 15-21, 2025, Kim Alina Schulz and Mahdi Rahali, doctoral students of the Taxation, Accounting and Finance Department at Paderborn University, took part in the intensive course “Archival Data Analysis” offered by the Limperg Institute at Amsterdam Business School (University of Amsterdam). The course was held by Prof. David Veenman. The practical lessons combined current research papers, simulations, and exercises in Stata, and taught key methods of empirical accounting research. The aim was to understand the relevance, application, and limitations of these methods for causal inference in archival data research.
