On 17th and 18th June, we were once again delighted to welcome Dr Stefan Glasmacher at Paderborn University to give guest lectures on “The Financing of Start-ups”.
During his lecture, Dr Glasmacher provided students and others interested in starting a business with in-depth and practical insights into key legal and economic issues relating to start-up financing – ranging from start-ups and entrepreneurship through various financing and investment options (e.g. venture capital, convertible loan agreements and vesting) right through to potential exit strategies. It became particularly clear that the long-term success of a start-up does not rest solely on an innovative business idea. Rather, a sound financial foundation, a thorough understanding of the legal framework and strategic decisions when dealing with investors are of crucial importance.
We would like to extend our sincere thanks to Dr Stefan Glasmacher for his time, his valuable insights into the legal practices of the start-up world, and the open and stimulating discussion with the audience. We would also like to thank all participants, whose questions and contributions to the discussion played a key role in making the event a success. We hope to welcome Dr Glasmacher to further events organised by our university and faculty in the future. Thank you very much!
