At the invitation of the Department of Private Law at the Faculty of Law at the Catholic Péter Pázmány University in Budapest (PPKE), Prof Dr Bartlitz gave a lecture in English in September 2025 on the topic: "From Outcomes To Process: Director's Liability for Forecast Errors in European Company Law". Based on a legal-economic analysis of entrepreneurial decisions under uncertainty and the legal dogmatic roots of director's liability in English and American corporate law, the subject of the lecture was a comparative legal analysis of the liability of members of the board of directors of a stock corporation (or their counterparts) in the German, Austrian, Hungarian and Swedish legal systems. The aim of the comparative study is to develop a common process-based liability standard that can be used as a guideline for corporate practice in all legal systems.

Further information can be found in the corresponding PPKE press release (in Hungarian language). The academic presentation was given by Dr. Ferenc Szilágyi, Associate Professor at the Department of Private Law of PPKE. Prof Dr Bartlitz is the author of several publications on corporate law. He lectures on the topic in Germany and abroad, including a speech at the German Lawyers' Conference.
