New explanatory video: Understanding tax using the blood circulation as an analogy

 |  Research,  Collaborative Research Centres,  TRR 266: Rechnungswesen, Steuern und Unternehmenstransparenz

What do the tax system and the human circulatory system have in common? Surprisingly, quite a lot! A new explanatory video from the DFG-funded Collaborative Research Centre TRR 266 ‘Accounting for Transparency’ uses this unusual analogy to show why taxes often have different effects than expected, and how the latest findings from tax research can help to design tax measures in such a way that they achieve the desired outcome.

The video illustrates how complex interactions arise within the tax system, how tax reforms affect the economy, and why they do not always produce only the intended effects. The video translates the latest findings from tax research into a format that is accessible to the general public and offers a clear introduction to a topic that is regularly at the centre of social and political debates.
