Short biography
René Fahr studied Economics, Philosophy and German philology at Bonn University and graduated as "Diplom-Volkswirt" in 1998. He started his doctoral study as a participant in the European Doctoral Program (EDP) at Bonn University and engrossed his scientific occupation at Centre for Economic Performance of the London School of Economics and Political Science.
René Fahr received his doctoral grade in 2003 with his dissertation on “Occupational Mobility and Occupational Matching: Some Implications for Career Choice and Labor Market Policy”, supervised by Klaus F. Zimmermann. From December 1999 to 2003 he worked as research member and research assistant at the "Forschungsinstitut zur Zukunft der Arbeit" (IZA). From November 2003 to April 2008 he served as research assistant at the Chair of Personnel Economics of Cologne University.
Prof. Dr. René Fahr is holding the Chair of Corporate Governance of Paderborn University since 2008 and serves as scientific director of the experimental laboratory of the Faculty of Business Administration and Economics.
In June 2019 René Fahr was elected Vice President for Knowledge- and Technology Transfer of Paderborn University.
