Profile of the Faculty
The Faculty of Business Administration and Economics at the University of Paderborn is a modern and dynamic study and research institution with around 3,500 students, 33 professors and some 170 research and teaching staff. Our aim is to communicate current insights from research through our teaching and to develop this academic discipline through active research. The Faculty maintains a broad-based approach to both traditional and modern economic science, with equal emphasis given to business administration, international business studies, business information systems, business and human resource education and economics. Other major subject areas such as business law, statistics and business English round off the curriculum. Our main focus is economic science in the context of the knowledge and information society, which is reflected in the exceptionally broad outlook of the Business Information Systems and Business and Human Resource Education Departments – a profile rarely found in Germany. Our teaching and research activities are highly international, which prepares our graduates in an ideal manner for a worldwide career in business. We maintain a large number of established exchange schemes with foreign universities. The Faculty also welcomes several first-year students who come to Paderborn from all over the world to complete their degree here, as well as regular guest professors from outside Germany. We are delighted about your visit to our virtual Faculty pages and would be very pleased to welcome you personally on campus in Paderborn.
Feel free to contact us with any questions you may have!
Yours truly
Martin Schneider and H.-Hugo Kremer
