Financial accounting is next to managerial accounting / controlling one of the most important cornerstones of accounting. The Chair of Business Administration, especially Financial Accounting therefore offers its students a comprehensive curriculum, which comprises the "classical" topics

• national accounting standards (HGB in conjunction with the "BilMoG") and
• international accounting standards (IFRS and US-GAAP).

Beside these fundamental topics the Chair of Financial Accounting also introduces the more advanced and theoretic topics of

• (agency-)theory in accounting and auditing.

The curriculum is completed by numerous practice-orientated events and through a close cooperation with international industrial companies and auditing firms.

The research focus of the Chair of Financial Accounting extends the theoretical part of the chair profile. The field of agency theory thereby constitutes the core of the analytical and theoretical consideration with special focus on the relationships in accounting and auditing.
